SEAMASTER 813 – NAME – ‘ARISTOCRAFT’ Moored at Canal & River Trust’s – Bilsborrow Wharf PR3 0QD near Preston – Lancaster Canal
KEY FEATURES
The outstanding feature which makes this boat unique is the fact the cabins have been completely refurbished throughout in light oak FORMICA which is totally resistant and unaffected by condensation / damp conditions- the inherent and great problem with boats. Also the paint used in the cabins is anti -condensation by incorporating the latest glass bubble technology, while the decor has been improved by the fitting of venetian blinds.
The boat is covered by SAFETY CERTIFICATE which runs until April 2025 and in addition on the 13th May 2022 it was given a full OUT OF THE WATER SURVEY by John Crompton of Small Boat Surveys. His several page report covers all parts and every aspect together with several images and the conclusion states ‘ The Seamster 813 inland waterways motor cruiser called ‘Aristocraft’ was found to be structurally sound at the time of the survey. The boat was well equipped for inland water cruising and appeared to have been updated and maintained to professional standards. There are no items found that need attention before the vessel is launched and the value for Insurance Purposes- £18500. Whilst the boat was out of the water the underside was treated with anti- foul paint supplied by INTERNATIONAL PAINTS.
In 2021 it was also be fitted with a large VETUS STRAINER FTR 330 water filter together with a new JABSCO 52040-2001 cooling pump. Since a new prop-shaft was fitted some years ago by PMB Mechanical Services of Chorley and paid for by Euromarine Insurance, the bilge of the boat has remained virtually dry.
This Seamaster 813 was originally owned by Cliff Fazakerley who was Chairman of the Ribble Link Trust. The Ribble Link connected the once isolated Lancaster canal to the national waterway network.The official opening ceremony took place on the 20th September 2002 and this boat led the flotilla of crafts through the new waterway; an illustration of the boat and the event appears page 22 in the publication ‘ The Complete Guide to the Lancaster Canal’.(2003 The Lancaster Canal Trust); a copy is retained with the documents for the boat.
ABOUT THIS BOAT
Manufactured circa 1970’s – length 27ft, beam 9ft 1ins, maximum draft 2ft 3ins, bridge clearance 6ft 3 ins, engine BMC 1.8 , fuel type DIESEL, drive type – INBOARD on shaft, all other specifications standard for the Seamster 813 model.
The cockpit is spacious with plenty of room to entertain guests. The canopy is in fine condition and can be lowered to enjoy summer days; there is also a ‘BIB’ fitting available for part open cruising. Fitted are helm and co-pilot seats, also bench seating at the rear and all in white PVC with matching material to the forward construction alongside the steering wheel, navigation instrumentation including screen wipers control.
Accommodation is for four by way having a v-shaped berth with infill cushions that form a double bed in a front cabin, together with a double berth with infills in the additional dinette section cabin.
There is a toilet with holding tank and pump out facility, also separate shower and wash basin with hot and cold running water. All are located centrally with individual access from the cabins.The dinette cabin enjoys two ceiling lights from 12v dual battery system, two burner gas oven and grill, worktop with storage cupboards below. Also a table to accommodate four with quality piped upholstery seating and Eberspacher air heating. The present owner, now 87 years old, has maintained the boat over a period of 20 years to the highest standards and furthermore carried out the modernisation that makes it one of the finest examples of a very desirable model.
