After a break of several years, Coombeswood Canal Trust is at last planning an Open Weekend / Boating Festival – this will happen on Saturday 2 September and Sunday 3 September 2023 at Hawne Basin. We are going to focus on boating activities this year, hoping to introduce our visitors to lace making and canal art as well as having boat handling and best-dressed boat competitions. There will also be boat trips and lots of activities for children of all ages. There will also be representatives from many local organisations detailing their activities – including the Greyhound Rescue and Owl Rescue, and the ever popular model boat exhibition.
The bar will be open, there will be good food available, including hot pork baps, and live entertainment – we look forward to welcoming you.
A booking form is available to download for boaters wishing to book their boat in for the Rally weekend.
