Hi
I will be hiring a narrowboat this summer with my small family to cruise the Llangollen Canal.
We have never done this before and we can't wait!
We will want to where possible moor next to or close to pubs along the way to have a few drinks and get some food on the evening.
Does anybody have any suggestions on pubs worth stopping at?
Dog friendly a bonus.
Lots of good pubs on the run-up to Llangollen with even more to be found in Llangollen itself.
My favourite stops were probably the pub in Trevor Basin and The Poachers.
The pub at Trevor Basin was called The Telford Inn.
I like the bridge Inn in Chirk. Its just a few seconds walk from the canal side and you can moor up at the top and walk down to the pub. It has great views of Chirk aquaduct from the beer garden, this is on the way to Llangollen 😀
