Boat Description
Based in Oxford center.
Selling my beautifully apportioned narrowboat built by Liverpool boats in 2005 and kitted out by a midlands boat fitter Gary Criddle who has done many narrowboat fit-outs in the area and is well respected.
The boat is a 50-foot traditional style narrowboat with a front cratch cover and side hatch.
She boasts a light airy feel throughout and has a high headroom at 6 ft 5 inches inside, boat is decorated with oak-faced ply and solid oak throughout.
The boat has been regularly blacked with 2 pak epoxy every 3-4 years and was just last blacked in November 2021 with new anodes in January.
It had 3 brand new leisure batteries last autumn and had a boat service around that time.
The boat has all receipts of work done by the one previous owner.
Also has 1 starter battery.
BSC is valid until February 2026.
Hull thickness 10, 6, 5, 4, although no boat survey has been extremely well looked after and visually assessed at every regular blacking.
Very efficient and starting the first time the boat is powered by an Isuzu 4 Cylinder 35HP engine, has a calorifier for hot water which is heated by the engine.
Electrics include 12v power sockets throughout, 12v pumps and lighting, and a 12v fridge in the kitchen. There is also a 240v inverter 600W Quasi Sine Wave. The central heating is provided by a Morso Squirrel Stove which is a year old a solar panel on the roof ensures the fridge always has enough power to stay on all the time.
External paintwork is in excellent condition and the boat inside is immaculate.
From the entrance of the boat, you come to the engine room, a door steps you down into the master bedroom with lots of storage under the bed, a wardrobe, cupboards above the bed and a floor-level cupboard opposite the bed. There are portholes in the bedroom.
Next is the bathroom, all of the surfaces are oak and the sliding doors of the bathroom invite you to a sink vanity unit, pump-out toilet with spare elsan port potti, and a shower cubicle.
There is some storage in the hallway and then you are into the kitchen which has a gas oven//grill/4 hob, sink and drainer with taps and a filtered tap to drink water from, lots of storage in cupboards with all cutlery, etc provided, and the fridge with a freezer compartment in the top of it.
The dinette area is very comfortable and turns into a double bed, there are big spacious windows with draw curtains and then you are into the saloon area which has two comfortable chairs and footstools with the Morso stove and unit with 240v tv atop and radio/cd player underneath. Speakers are on the ceiling in the saloon, dinette, and bedroom areas.
Forward to this is the covered cratch storage area. Large water tank and diesel tank.
Overall the boat is extremely comfortable with excellent use of space for a 50-foot boat.
Would suit a couple living on the canals as a continuous cruiser, has everything you need with the assurance of a well-maintained hull, and is diligently looked after by one owner. It’s light, airy, and doesn’t feel at all cramped like some narrowboats do. A lovely boat.
Does not currently have a mooring but they are available.
